Athirah (2016)

The trials and tribulations of Athirah Kalla, mother of Indonesian vice president H. Muhammad Jusuf Kalla. Athirah’s life falters when her husband marrying another woman. In the culture that allows this to happen and no space for women to refuse, Athirah wrestles her own mind in order to maintain the integrity of the family. Meanwhile, her oldest boy, Ucu (Yusuf Kalla), does not know to whom he must take side. His mother is a person he loves, full of patience and kindness, while the father remains a figure he admires.
